The Rage of a Grounded Mind

Being grounded is the ability to be completely aware and conscious during the present moment. If you’re grounded, you practice a deep sense of mindfulness and rarely think about “what ifs.”  It’s also a deeper connection to the authentic self. He further explains that groundedness is associated “with an experience of clarity, wholeness, ‘rightness’ and harmony."

When you’re grounded, you’re in complete control of your mental and emotional self, and not easily influenced by other ideas or individuals. Those who are grounded allow life’s small mishaps to roll off their shoulders. Even if people see you as a grounded person, there may be times when you feel “out of sorts,” or stressed.

But life also has a way of being overwhelming not matter how grounded you are.... So what then... how can rage be channeled and released without causing death, destruction and terror...

Art Therapy.....

Art Therapy comes in lots of forms. I use face and body art not just to benefit myself but also for the models. Perhaps you are so disconnected from anger, you have no idea the rumbling of the volcano in your tummy is even happening. You may be floating around in a disembodied sea of fake smiles and jittery mental dreaminess.

By getting the models to assume the character during the photo shoot, the level of therapy can be used to reconnect and explore different emotions that they might be repressing and/or discover new feelings and emotions that stem from becoming a character...

Anger is either repressed or expressed. Repression is a denial of reality. We shove down the powerful anger flooding our entire body, pretending it’s not there. Anything repressed goes underground where it turns into a poisonous autocrat lurking ominously, waiting for an opportunity to break out. The end result to the therapy is a series of images that help remind both model and artist about the feelings and emotions that came from the paint and photo shoot giving a chance to reflect upon what was explored and dealt with, bringing about a sense of fulfillment and achievement

Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored ~ Mark Twain

Unlocking anger and expressing it masterfully is one of the keys to your power. As you let this force live within you, you open the potential of the universe to flow through you unhindered in wonderful ways. Anger and passion stem from the same source in the body.

Anger is really passionate life force trying to express itself through you. Anger can be suppressed creativity wanting an outlet, but shoved aside due to the responsibilities of daily life. Next time you’re angry, meet yourself, with acceptance, awareness, feel the energy of the anger and use this energy to create something. Aware anger can change the world.
