Born to Sparkle has been nominated in the 2019 What’s On 4 Kids Awards - Recognising Excellence in Australian Business nationally.

Australia’s only industry event for the kid's activity, family entertainment and party businesses; the What’s On 4 Kids Awards.

Local Fremantle based small business, Born to Sparkle, has been nominated in the 2019 What’s on 4 Kids Awards.’ The winner will be announced on the Gold Coast on Saturday 1st June 2019.

Born to Sparkle is a significant nominee because co-founder/co-director Belle Maccoll survived a life-threatening car accident in 2015.

Born to Sparkle were established in 2017 in Fremantle, WA and have been spreading their magic throughout Perth and surrounds ever since! Where possible Born to Sparkle donate goods and services to grassroots organisations. Notable organisations include the PCYC in Fremantle and local community radio program Rainbow KINection.

Born to Sparkle specialise in temporary glitter tattoos, face sparkles and festival gems and boast an extensive range of over 200 designs produced in-house by co-director and co-founder Mark Redenbach aka Mr. Sparkles. Born to Sparkles’ design portfolio can be customised to suit the specific needs of the client.

Belle and Mark practice cultural sensitivity and have consulted with local Indigenous Elders when creating designs linked to ATSI culture. Born to Sparkle consider it a privilege to have been granted permission to integrate Indigenous culture into their range.

Belle Maccoll aka Mrs. Sparkles has demonstrated herculean resilience after a devastating car accident left her seriously injured in 2015. Consequently, Belle was unable to work in the field of aged/disability care as an occupational therapist assistant.

Instead of surrendering to her limitations, Belle focused on healing a day at a time and decided, with the support and inspiration from her young daughter Miley, that she would start her own business.

A business that would ultimately bring joy, laughter and smiles to thousands.

“I have always loved bringing joy and happiness to people,” said Belle.

“My motivation for starting Born to Sparkle was a desire to continue spreading that joy and happiness in a new-found way. I wanted to give back to the community that helped me through my time in need.” she continued.

Born to Sparkle has received ongoing support and positive feedback from customers and other small business owners in the community. This is what makes them stand out among the 500+ nominations.

“Winning awards gives the industry recognition, increases team morale and workplace culture and leads to more family interest,” said What’s on 4 Kids founder, Elise Easdown.

In its 8th successful year, the 2019 What’s On 4 Kids Awards is recognising excellence in the industry over 32 categories.

Erin Madeley, the founder of the Perth Makers Markets, explained to reporter Vesh Arumugam just how unique Born to Sparkle is “I hadn’t heard of glitter tattoos before…it was something new, something that I hadn’t really seen in any other markets in Perth!”

As Born to Sparkles motto proudly states “Everyone deserves a bit of sparkle in their life!”

Winners of the What’s on for Kids Awards will be announced at a gala dinner at Sheraton Grand Mirage on the Gold Coast on Saturday 1st June 2019.
